From the banks of the Red Cedar, the Michigan State softball program has chosen Marucci as the right equipment partner to elevate their program.
“Marucci produces innovative equipment that will usher our program to new levels of performance on the field. As we look ahead to a new season, we look forward to seeing the results Marucci can provide,” said Michigan State head softball coach Sharonda McDonald-Kelley.
Marucci prides itself on creating the tools athletes want and need to be successful, and will be the exclusive provider of bats, fielding gloves, bags and protective gear.
“With Sharonda’s success as a player at Texas A&M and in the NPF, we know she will lead the Spartan program to the top of the Big Ten and beyond,” said Kurt Ainsworth, Co-Founder and CEO of Marucci Sports. When asked about the impact of this multi-year deal, Ainsworth continued, “as we continue to grow and gain market share in fastpitch, it is important that we connect with the right partners. Having Michigan State softball helps to strength our presence in the Power 5 market, and the fastpitch space overall.”
Coach McDonald-Kelley was named the Spartans’ head coach in June 2023, and brings College World Series experience to the team in East Lansing, MI. Prior to joining Michigan State, she was the head coach for Campbell University, as well as the Chicago Bandits, a professional fastpitch team. She also served as an assistant for many premier college programs, including Ohio State, Florida, Texas Tech, LSU, Ohio and Texas Southern. As an athlete, McDonald-Kelley was a four-time All-Big 12 player at Texas A&M and made trip to the Women’s College World Series in 2004.
Powered by Marucci, the Spartans are primed to dominate with superior product, dedicated support, and first access to Marucci innovation. Confident in Marucci’s customer service, Ainsworth added, “the level of support they will receive from our staff will be unmatched in the industry.”
