Marucci Cares Makes Flood Relief Donation To Baton Rouge Area Foundation
Oct 25th 2016
Marucci Cares, a 501c3 non-profit organization of Baton Rouge-based Marucci Sports, has donated $32,000 raised from its Flood Relief apparel sales to the Baton Rouge Area Foundation’s Flood Relief fund.
On August 19, Marucci Sports released several apparel items through its official website with the promise of donating 100 percent of the profits from the sale of these hats, t-shirts and polos specifically designed to raise awareness for the record flooding in August of 2016.
In addition to the BRAF donation, Marucci Cares has also aided in flood relief efforts with clothing and toiletry donations to pop-up emergency stores in Denham Springs, volunteered with Walk On’s flood relief food service events and made other food donations to homeowners and workers in local neighborhoods
“We are very fortunate to be in the position to help in any way possible,” said Marucci Cares Chairman Michael Uffman. “Being a local Louisiana company, we saw so many of our hometowns and neighborhoods working hard to get back on their feet. Whether by bringing needed supplies to emergency stores, providing food to neighbors busy cleaning up their own homes, or through our flood t-shirt and hat campaign, we wanted to do our part.”
Marucci Cares is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to partnering with the baseball community to help those in need and increase participation in youth sports.
Marucci Cares’ nationwide baseball community includes Big League players such as Anthony Rizzo, Albert Pujols, Jose Bautista, Buster Posey, Alex Bregman, Andrew McCutchen and many others who helped raise national awareness about the flood and Marucci’s relief efforts.
“We would be remiss not to thank our partners, families and friends nationwide, who showed constant support in our efforts to help others,” said Uffman.
