Why do you need to break in a composite bat?

Composite bats require a break in period because of the carbon composite material that is used to construct them. The CAT9 Composite is made of carbon fiber composites that will loosen up as the bat is used. When your bat is fresh out of the wrapper, the fibers in the bat are compact. As the bat is broken-in the fibers will loosen up, which results in the barrel being able to create more flex and higher performance. It is important to take all of the necessary steps before game time to ensure your bat is properly broken-in and ready to perform at the highest level.
