Amanda Lorenz Makes The Move To Marucci
Jan 24th 2023
One of fastpitch’s greatest hitters has signed a multi-year partnership with Marucci, as she prepares for her upcoming season. Amanda Lorenz trusts Marucci with her game and has the data to back it up.
Lorenz recently visited Marucci’s Performance Lab with her new Echo Connect DMND bat in hand. “It was unbelievable! The amount of data at our fingertips was insane, and the metrics speak for themselves,” said Lorenz, when asked about her visit to Marucci headquarters.
“I’m a huge hitting nerd so any information I can learn on how to improve my swing and my movements, I am all ears. I will definitely be taking what I learned and applying it to my training this off season,” Lorenz continued.
Lorenz’s impressive resume includes multiple seasons in the Athletes Unlimited league and tenure with Team USA. Prior to playing professionally, Lorenz was a 2022 World Games Gold Medalist and one of the most decorated student-athletes in the nation. The former Florida Gator was the career leader in batting average, OBP, and walks. She has also been named a 4x All-American, All-SEC First Team selection, the 2018 SEC Player of the Year and SEC Tournament Most Valuable Player, 2016 SEC Freshman of the Year, and 2016 NFCA National Freshman of the Year.
Marucci’s Director of Fastpitch, Allison Parsell, shared what this partnership means to the brand. “Our commitment to fastpitch is strengthened by adding players like Lorenz to our lineup and reinforces the direction we are headed as a brand. We are making waves in the space and will continue to strive to earn the respect of athletes by providing products that they trust,” said Parsell.
When asked about her decision to sign with Marucci, Lorenz explained, “Marucci’s focus on having a bigger presence in softball stands out to me. They see the value in our sport and us as professional softball players. They are willing to listen and it’s important to me to feel like my voice is heard. This partnership feels much more like a relationship in which my voice matters and I am helping them continue to grow their presence in the fastpitch space.”
When she isn’t locked in at the plate, Lorenz can be found patrolling the outfield – this year flashing Marucci leather. Lorenz admitted to following @GloveCowboy long before his time at Marucci, and her fielding glove design session didn’t disappoint. “Sitting down with Eric [Marucci Glove Designer] and brainstorming what cool things we could do with my gloves was awesome! I left Marucci so excited about this partnership and can’t wait to see what we accomplish together!”
Lorenz joins Marucci’s elite list of professional fastpitch athletes including Haley Cruse and Courtney Gano, as well as baseball athletes Anthony Rizzo, Buster Posey, Francisco Lindor, Freddie Freeman, Gleyber Torres, Josh Donaldson and Trea Turner. Marucci intentionally partners with athletes who are committed to Honoring the Game, demonstrating character and commitment to excellence, and are passionate about creating the tools athletes want and need to be successful.
