The University of Georgia Bulldogs have signed a multi-year contract with Marucci Sports as an official partner of the softball program. Earning the trust of a nationally ranked NCAA program reflects Marucci Sports’ continued growth in fastpitch.
“We’ve invested time into building our fastpitch staff and refining our product line in our Innovation Center over the past several years in preparation for signing a program of this caliber,” said Kurt Ainsworth, Co-Founder & CEO of Marucci Sports. “Their belief in our products and staff motivates us even more to make a larger impact in fastpitch. We’re looking forward to the Bulldogs taking the field with our products and providing the best service in the industry to Coach Baldwin and his staff. We are thrilled to have our brands connected and welcome them to the Marucci family.”
Marucci Sports will be the exclusive provider of bats and other performance-driven gear. Athletes will step up to the plate with the Echo DMND and Echo Connect DMND, the newly developed power and speed variations of both bats, tested and refined in Marucci’s Innovation Center. The Bulldogs will begin using Marucci equipment this fall and be fully outfitted in the spring of 2024 for their regular season.
“We’re really excited for this partnership with Marucci and the great things they are doing for the future of our game. We appreciate their support of Georgia Softball and look forward to a great relationship with the organization,” said Tony Baldwin, Head Coach of the Georgia Bulldogs softball team.
Coach Tony Baldwin has served on the staff at UGA for nine seasons and is entering his third season as head coach of the Georgia softball team. Baldwin is just the third head coach in the history of the program, and coaches the US Women’s National Team, who won gold at the 2022 World Games.
Coach Baldwin’s first two seasons brought great success with a 43-18 record in 2022, the 18th 40-win season in the program’s history. The Bulldogs followed with another 40-win season in 2023, finishing 42-15 overall, and making it the NCAA Super Regionals.
