The University of Georgia Bulldogs baseball team will be entering the 2024 season with a new coach and a new equipment partner, as they’ve signed a multi-year bat deal with Marucci Sports.
“We’ve developed a great relationship with Coach Johnson over the years and are honored he chose our products for his first head coaching job at the University of Georgia,” said Kurt Ainsworth, Co-Founder and CEO of Marucci Sports. “Like Marucci, Wes has always been an innovator in the industry and has challenged how things were done. His passion for putting his players in the best position to be successful aligns with our mission to provide the players with the products they want and need to be successful. We look forward to helping the Georgia baseball program get back to Omaha.”
Marucci will elevate the talented team with industry-leading products, like the CATX line of baseball bats. Developed with years of analytics and testing, the CATX has proven itself as one of the best bats in college athletics and been a part of many defining moments.
“Great partnerships with great people can have an incredible impact on your program, I truly believe that is Marucci Sports,” said Wes Johnson, Georgia’s Head Baseball Coach.
Coach Johnson may be entering his first year as the head baseball coach at UGA, but he brings immense experience from 25 years of coaching at the high school, college, and professional level. UGA finished their 2023 season with a record of 29-27 overall, 11-19 in the SEC Conference.
Georgia baseball has earned 10 conference championships, six NCAA College World Series appearances, and one World Series championship in their program’s history. Now Coach Johnson looks to take this established Bulldogs program to the next level by pairing great players with proven partners, like Marucci Sports.
