Stars Baseball is the fourth Founders’ Club organization featured in this blog series that showcases Marucci’s premier amateur baseball and softball teams.
Founded by former pros Mike Colangelo and Carson Carroll, Stars fields 57 teams ranging from 7-18U. Located in Manassas, Virginia, the prestigious group joined the Founders’ Club in 2016.
“Marucci is a first-class organization that enables us to swing the best bats in the industry and provides us with the customer support and resources needed to stay one of the top organizations in the country,” Colangelo said.
Stars claimed several titles at marquee events this season, including the Perfect Game Northeast Qualifier 11U and USSSA 10U World Series. The 16U squad made a semifinal appearance in the 2018 Marucci World Series.
“We are thrilled to have the Stars Baseball program in the Marucci Founders’ Club,” said Kyle Achord, Marucci VP of Team Sales. “We enjoy our relationship with them and look forward to continuing to work with them in the future. It’s been exciting to see their growth, which is a result of the quality people they have in the organization and them doing things the right way.”
Former Stars standouts Logan Driscoll (George Mason) and Jake Agnos (ECU) were recently drafted in the second and fourth rounds, respectively. Driscoll was a semifinalist for the Buster Posey Award and an Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team catcher during his junior campaign with the Patriots. Agnos was tabbed a Collegiate Baseball First-Team All-American, breaking the league’s single-season strikeout record and currently ties the career tally at 290.
About the Marucci Founders’
The founders of Marucci built the company on a dedication to superior quality and a relentless pursuit of excellence that extended beyond the game of baseball. That pursuit of excellence has allowed Marucci to forge partnerships with some of the nation’s premier amateur baseball and softball organizations. With core values that align with those of the Marucci Founders, these programs were selected for their dedication to excellence on and off the field, reputation as a positive influence in their community, and commitment to growing their organization and, in turn, the Marucci mission. We call this elite alliance the Founders’ Club.
