Sooners headed to Omaha
Jun 13th 2022
The Oklahoma Sooners are headed to the College World Series for the 11th time in program history and the first since 2010, after defeating Virginia Tech in the Super Regionals. The hottest team in the country, hit .324 with 7 home runs and 24 RBI’s over the weekend, beating Virginia Tech twice in order to advance in the NCAA Tournament.
Oklahoma, who signed an equipment deal with Marucci in 2020, is the first college to use Marucci in Omaha. “Making it to Omaha is a great accomplishment and they are going in full of confidence using the best gear in the game on the biggest stage in college baseball,” said Justin Cryer, Marucci’s Director of Team Sales.
One of the perks of making the postseason is access to the latest product innovations before they are released to the public. Oklahoma has been competing with Marucci’s newest bats and fielding gloves since Regionals and haven’t looked back since, hitting .302 with 16 home runs and 54 RBI’s over 7 games in the NCAA Tournament.
Oklahoma will open up with Texas A&M on Friday or Saturday when the schedule is finalized.
