Order Processing and Shipping Questions

I just placed an order. When can I expect it to ship?

  • Due to the volume of orders in our production queue, it typically takes 3-4 weeks for our team to create your handcrafted custom wood bat. If a quicker turnaround is needed, expedited production for $35.00 is an option to purchase, and the bat will be created within 10 business days. The shipping time will be in addition to the production time. To see an estimate of the days in transit from our facility to the final location, please view this map
  • If an aluminum bat with engraving is ordered, the order will ship within 2-3 business days following the order.
  • If an item with no customization is ordered, it should ship within 1-2 business days following the order.

My CAT6 hit the ground and made a weird sound, do I need to send it in for warranty?

The rubber harmonic dampener within the knob of the CAT6 will come secured in place straight from production and after a few hits with a CAT6 the rubber harmonic dampener will loosen a tiny bit within the knob casing. Once the rubber harmonic dampener loosens to its engineered state the technology really starts to take effect. Having the rubber harmonic dampener slightly loose within the knob of the bat allows the unwanted sting and vibrations to be transferred and absorbed with the rubber material the harmonic dampener is constructed out of.

Being that the rubber harmonic dampener is slightly loose within the knob casing of the CAT6 a different type of sound is produced when/if the knob of the bat it tapped or hits the ground in any way. This is completely normal for the Cat6 line of bats. The reason you hear that particular sound is because the vibration-reducing damper is absorbing and trapping all of the vibrations that are being produced in the bat, in turn producing this deadening sound. This is normal and is in fact, technology at work.

What is BBCOR?

BBCOR stands for Bat-Ball Coefficient of Restitution. The ruling went into effect for college on January 1, 2011 and for high school on January 1, 2012. A BBCOR bat is a big barrel bat that measures 2 5/8” with a minus 3 ounce difference from the length of the bat and is made by an approved bat licensee. The BBCOR mark must be permanently stamped on the bat for easy recognition.

The BBCOR approved bats range from 31 inches to 34 inches in length and are required for play at the high school and college levels.

What is BPF?

BPF stands for Bat Performance Factor. The BPF standard measures how fast a ball can come off the bat. The ruling for USSSA 1.15 BPF certification went into effect on January 1, 2012 for all youth and senior league bats (both small and big barrel) to be used in USSSA play. The USSSA 1.15 BPF, just like the BBCOR stamp, must be permanently stamped on the bat for easy recognition.

What is a professional cut wood bat?

When a big leaguer orders bats from us, those bats are handcrafted to his exact specifications, or his preferred cut. However, there are instances when these cuts do not meet that player’s exact specifications of length, weight, balance point, handle or knob shape, etc. and that bat is pulled from that player’s order and is sold as a “Professional Cut.” These bats have no defects and are not considered “blem” bats; they simply did not match what the player requested.

For instance, a player orders a 32 oz. bat, but the cut came out at 32.2 oz. That bat is pulled from that player’s order and sold as a Professional Cut.

These bats are still the highest quality wood, but only can be specified by color and length (not model).

What is the difference between ash and maple?

We offer two types of wood bats: ash and maple. Ash is a soft, open grain wood. Indentions will occur with an ash bat; however, these indentions are normal and will not affect the bat’s overall performance. Ash bats will also tend to flake with gradual use. “Flaking” occurs when the open grains of the ash start to split apart, therefore causing the wood to look like it is flaking off. If you are opposed to the “flaking” and open grains of the ash bats, please consider the maple bat, which is a much harder, closed grain wood.

Can I buy in bulk for my team?

To see if a team qualifies for a team deal, please contact teamsales@maruccisports.com for pricing. Wood bats can be purchased in bat bundles online, which include 3-12 wood bats at a discounted price.
