Scorpions Baseball Joins the Marucci Founders' Club

Nov 7th 2017

BATON ROUGE, La. – Marucci Sports has added the eight-time Perfect Game National Champion Scorpions Baseball Club to the Marucci Founders’ Club as an official partner.

Based in Orlando, FL, the Scorpions are one of the nation’s most premier amateur baseball organizations, having won eight Perfect Game National Championships and 13 runner-up finishes, while producing 60 Division I commitments in 2017. So far, 42 current Scorpion players from 2018, 2019 and 2020’s classes have committed to Division I programs.

“The Scorpions Baseball Club is one of the top travel organizations in the country,” said Kyle Achord, Director of Team Sales at Marucci Sports. “We are thrilled to be able to add them to the Marucci Founders’ Club and believe they are a tremendous addition to the already strong group of organizations we have in our Founders’ Club.”

In the last five years, the Scorpions have produced 14 Perfect Game All-Americans and eight 1st round draft picks. Additionally, 18 current Big League players were former members of the Scorpions Baseball Club.

“The Scorpions’ accomplishments on the field and the number of MLB draft picks and college commitments speaks to the strong group of coaches, players, and parents they have in their organization,” Achord said. “We are impressed with the leadership of the Scorpions organization and look forward to working with them in the years to come.”

As a Founders’ Club team, the Scorpions join an elite alliance of some of the nation’s premier baseball organizations selected by Marucci for their dedication to excellence on and off the field, reputation as a positive influence in their community, and commitment to growing their organization and, in turn, the Marucci mission.

“The Scorpions Baseball Club is excited to announce our new partnership with Marucci Sports,” said Bob Rikeman, President and CEO of the Scorpions Baseball Club. “We have been impressed with the Marucci Team from ground level to their CEO. The Marucci operation in Baton Rouge was impressive to say the least, but the key ingredient for us is the people. True baseball guys who get after excellence every day. We are looking forward to seeing all the high school and youth Scorpions in Marucci uniforms and using Marucci bats and gear. The Scorpions are proud to be a Marucci Founders Club!”

MARUCCI FOUNDERS’ CLUB

The founders of Marucci built the company on a dedication to superior quality and a relentless pursuit of excellence that extended beyond the game of baseball. That pursuit of excellence has allowed Marucci to forge partnerships with some of the nation’s premier amateur baseball organizations. With core values that align with those of the Marucci Founders, these programs were selected for their dedication to excellence on and off the field, reputation as a positive influence in their community, and commitment to growing their organization and, in turn, the Marucci mission. We call this elite alliance the Founders’ Club.
