BATON ROUGE, LA – Marucci Sports announced it has become the official equipment provider of the Baylor University baseball program for the 2018 season.

As part of the partnership, Marucci will be the Bears’ exclusive equipment provider of bats, custom fielding gloves and batting gloves, and custom catcher’s gear. Baylor will also assist Marucci in future product development.

“Marucci is one of the fastest-rising brands in the game, especially on the college level,” said Baylor Head Coach Steve Rodriguez. “The quality and performance of the product along with the customization of the gear has really made this a special opportunity for our team and players.”

Earlier this fall, each player had the opportunity to customize his individual glove on Marucci’s new online Custom Glove Builder which features thousands of color combinations, custom web styles and sizes, and embroidered personalization options.

“Using the Custom Glove Builder allowed our players to express what they wanted in a glove,” Rodriguez said. “From the colors to the design of the glove, Marucci allowed each of our players to take complete ownership of their new gear, and that was very exciting for us.”

Rodriguez enters his third season as the head coach at Baylor, a nationally-recognized program with 18 NCAA tournament appearances, five Big 12 championships and three College World Series appearances.

The Bears open the season February 16 at home against Purdue.
